I hope to use The Ryot to share my views on various political, and pop culture happenings while also discussing traveling, books I’m reading, good food I'm eating, and the things I’m doing.
I also hope to develop The Ryot into a collaborative space that shares the stories of women from all backgrounds. I hope to cover the taboo as well as the popular. And I am extremely excited to see what's to come!
At the end of the day, I’m a 21-year-old college grad that's obsessed with all things Beyonce. I love music, especially R&B. I love bad scary movies. I love to travel. And I love doing dope shit. I’m the type of person who hates sitting still but also appreciates a day of doing absolutely nothing.
When it comes to my writing, I’ve always been protective. I can count on less than two hands, the number of people I've shared my writing with and most of these select few include professors and those who I am extremely close with. The thought of coming across as vulnerable or open through my writing has always held me back from sharing it.
However, the idea to start The Ryot came to me about a year ago when I was casually talking to my sister about things we wanted to do in the future. The idea hasn’t left me since, and if anything it has grown and developed into ways I could not even begin to imagine.
When I bought the website domain for The Ryot I was nervous, but it was the type of nervousness in which you know that you are walking the exact path you are intended to.
